For Dad

Colton has become very attached to his daddy. He woke up this morning asking for him and when we got home from "school" he asked for him again. I decided to make this video and send it to Michael at work so he would know that we're thinking of him.

Colton's first Alive After Five

We just got back from our first Alive After Five. (This is Michael posting.) Colt got to see the Mother Hips, a cool veteran alt-rock band from California that should have been bigger in their heyday in the 1990s. It took Colt a while to get over the sensory overload, but by the time the Hips were cutting loose with a Neil Young cover during the encore, he decided it was time to hit the fountain. He did the same thing about 50 times in a row: Stagger into fountain, get wet, rush back to Daddy for a hug. We had a lot of fun.

Music Man

Colton discovered Michael's keyboard and had a great time coming up with beats and dancing. Perhaps we have a musician in the family :). (Sorry about the unsteady hand.)

Family Time

Last week we were graced with the presence of the Deeds family--Roy and Linda, Neil, Farida, Daria, and Cyrus. Colton just LOVED playing with his cousins and hanging out with Nonnie and Grandpa and Aunt Farida & Uncle Neil. We all had a great time hanging out in the yard, BBQing and just being together. I wish we lived closer to each other.

Movement

A lot can happen in two months when you're a baby. About 2 weeks after Colton turned one he began to crawl and is just about ready to walk all by himself. He can walk just fine, but he doesn't want to do it by himself. Yesterday though, Colt took 3 steps all by himself as he walked from Michael to me. Then he took 3 more as he walked back to Michael. It won't be long now.
